Entertainment

We don't cruise for entertainment.
We cruise for the ships, the sea, the sun, the views, resort islands, less for sightseeing (for which we prefer land based trips).
However we love professional level performances that we attend once in awhile on the large ships.

Theater

This is a relatively small ship, so the size of the theater is predictably small.
However It could have been two-deck high...
Unfortunately it is only one-deck high.

The pressure of the low ceiling is so out of context on this bright and light ship!
The theater is like a foreign body.
It's small, uninspiring, with a ceiling on your head, poor views from distant rows (dancers' feet are not visible).

Yes, a lot have been done to counterbalance this impression.
I can mention the ultramodern technology that is in use here (the stage with LED background screen, 3D cinema), nice small pillows and blankets...

Sliding walls?

Yes, of course.

The two highlighted areas are small cinemas once the partitions are closed.
One of them is open, so you can see yellow row of seats..

Theater Bar - right outside the exit:

A Star of the Star

Suzanne Gayle - Cruise Director

This amazing lady is a professional singer.
In my opinion, her solo performance (with live music) was a highlight of the entertainment program.

A few other performers were good.

"Production shows" did not look well staged IMO.
In fact t
he main "performer" was a LED background screen.

The most anticipated show based on ABBA music was disappointing.
This show was less of ABBA than any "ABBA show" I have seen before.

There is another showroom on the Viking Star.
A smaller stage is called Torshavn (Music & Dance Club):

Chamber music was presented by the Classical Trio, the Resident Guitarist, and the Resident Pianist.

A guest magician performed in the Theater two or three times.
We did not attend.
The guest magician is demonstrating his skills in the buffet (on an individual basis):

Movie lovers could enjoy the Movies Under The Stars (MUTS)

Movies were demonstrated on a large screen in the central pool area.
That was the quietest performance on the ship: wireless headphones were supplied for everyone.

The theater can be converted into 3D cinema:

Trivia

A music band performed on the MUTS stage a few times:

Not bad for a small ship?
There is no comparison with the Grand entertainment ships, but not a fiasco at all.
